I still remem­ber the time when muscle sim­u­la­tion was a new thing. It first appeared on a grand scale in Jur­as­sic Park. These days it’s pretty com­mon to run all kinds of muscle– and skin sim­u­la­tions on all kinds of char­ac­ters just to get this extra bit of real­ism. And yet it’s such a spe­cial­ists domain we don’t really get to see it dis­cussed in much detail. This video by Adom Yip sheds a little light on all the con­sid­er­a­tions when work­ing with digital muscles.
